We collect used moving boxes (corrugated cartons) and packing paper (newsprint without the ink) from families arriving in Portland and offer them to families who are doing their own packing. When the boxes can be returned, we offer to buy them back at 20% so that they can be used again. We are a locally-owned, family-run company in business since 1993.
It's all about Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!
REDUCE the need to manufacture a brand new box every time one of us wants to move our belongings (we do this a lot in the United States!).
REUSE again and again! To manufacture a moving box for a one-time use is a huge waste. After it's first use, a box may have writing and tape on it. After its second use, it may have a bit more writing and tape, but, still, the integrity of the container is quite good. We've found that a box can be used two or three times before it's ready for recycling.
RECYCLE. We advertise good quality boxes and customers have learned to trust that. In twelve years we've had lots of referrals and repeat business! Boxes that do not meet our standards are recycled.
